Note there are 3 sorts of clay out there, 2 made in Japan - the crumbly grey stuff (Megs etc) and the blue stuff (Race Glaze etc), plus the Swissol stuff which is more elastic and yellow (presumably made in Switzerland).

I understand that the crumbly stuff won't last as long.
Mark, you are a nice chap and all but please don't keep rubbishing the competition in your posts unless you have first hand knowledge. I am able to listen and accept criticisms about products as long as it is valid but to say the grey Meg's is rubbish etc is nonsense.

The Meguiar's clay bar is white to start with and does not crumble with the use of the QD but will do if using Zaino shampoo as the lube. The Zaino clay will withstand shampoo and prefers this to QD.

At the end of the day there are only 5 bulk clay producers in the world and Swissol buy from one of these too. Trust me, they do.

I think using a dedicated tar remover is better than clay. The clay hasn't been designed for this even though it does sometimes work. Tar is a petroleum based problem and treating it as such is easy.

I usually use Claymagic which come in large 200g bars

I do get through quite a bit, mainly because I drop the bloody stuff.

I'll just tack this question on here:

I've ordered some Poorboy's EXP Sealant as my (guess what!) 'sealant' below which I'll apply Clearkote Vanilla Moose Wax Hand Glaze for those that care. I've also ordered some Natty Paste Wax and my question is if I can apply that immediately after applying the sealant or if I have to wait a few hours, days, weeks? I intend to be 'topping' up with a layer of Natty's every 3-4 weeks and performing a full strip back and build up detail every 6 months or so.
