Thanks for the link BF, plenty of goodies on that site... this could become an expen sive shopping list
S2UK, no idea? I would have assumed that once the paint is baked then its not going to get any tougher. WOuld be nice to clay it before you gave it a coat in waqx and stuff but I might be a little cautions myself.
Pretty sure your spray man will give you the yay's and nay's..

Claybar is the way forward. Its the only way to truly prep the car for a quality polish.
You will reap the rewards for ages after.
The car will look better than showroom under lights, once clayed and a quality polish applied.

Clay bar is worth it. The meg's stuff is very good and I'll also organise a GB for different products from serious performance next week so hold on tight and you will save money. No need to clay bar a new paint job and don't wax it for a couple of weeks just to be safe. Also click on the www link below my post and I have written some advice on keeping the car clean. )

I've used the Meguairs stuff and was pleased with the results.
WARNING! You MUST keep the surface well lubricated and regularly "knead" the clay to keep it clean. If you don't, you can do what I did and up the clear coat on top of the paint by etching lines into it

I haven't used it on the S2000 yet (still sat here since last july) but used it on the focus as a test.
It got rid of a lot of scuff marks which I thought were scratches, & tar etc
takes a lot of time mind, mainly the preparation before & after so book yourself a full day
However I reckon one day each year is ample
