Did you manage to find an alternative to the velcro, that doesn't leak glue everywhere?
I found that using the same velcro strips from Hellfords, the glue doesnt seem to leak if you 1) stick the furry side to the dash and the hooky side to the revenue-collection detecting device. and 2) put something over the patch of velcro (like a hand towel or polishing cloth) when you leave the car in direct sunlight.

As yet i have been unable to figure a way to stop tyre fitters from stealing my anodized valve caps tho.

I highly recommend using some RA before applying your new velcro. It will remove any oils, dirt etc from the surface allowing the adhesive to really grip,

I think you can get some from a pharmacy, audio place etc. they use it in video head cleaners etc. I think maplin do some too. I would get some because it is handy even around the house for various things. If you get stuck let me know and I can try and send some in the post to you, have about 10 liters of the stuff.

I've got some glue going spare if you want to use it on your valve caps
If i didnt check the tyre pressures regularly i would seriously consider gluing the valve caps on. Since i decided it was a good idea to have silver valve caps to match the alloys i have bought two packets of said caps. It seems either festival place in Basingstoke has magpies nesting, or someone took a fancy to the two front valve caps, then last week went to Micheldever tyres to get the rears changed and didnt notice until i checked the pressures next that i had gained a set of black plastic caps. Hmm.

Sorry have hijacked your thread and am now waffling, ill get my coat.

Rahula,

Do you like prison food?

If you mean ethanol, it's highly inflammable and one should not post it!

Oh, right.

I was thinking medical or industrial alcohol.

Which is amazingly effective, but controlled.
