does sound like the clutch is worn out, just make sure it's not you noticing the CDV in action.

Thanks again. CDV (Description below)? Any way to test this/rule this out ?

I also tried the 3 gear test (handbrake on, let clutch out in 3rd etc) The car did stall but the revs did not rise. To me it looks like the clutch has gone/is going but is they a foolproof way to determine if it is the clutch ?

A clutch delay valve is an automotive component added to the clutch system of an automobile to standardize clutch engagement speed. Its purpose is to engage the drive train of an automobile without introducing shock to the drive train components by engaging too quickly. By preventing drive train shock, CDVs also prevent an automobile's balance from being upset, which aids in handling characteristics

You can pish around and try to save money here and there, but the simple reality is that OEM is the best where clutches are concerned.

Aftermarket kits rarely come with a new spigot/flywheel/pilot bearing or the release bearing.

Nice result

Why do people always say this will cost nearer a grand? Did you get a mega deal or something?

Definately sounds like clutch!

The other test is to roll along at 2-3k in 5th or 6th, hold throttle steady, dump clutch pedal and release. It should engage and jerk. If it's worn, it'll spin and not do much.

I've just had an ACT fitted - FAR better than standard IMO.
