Code Reader: GS100 OBD2
I've phoned 3 dealers and they're all insisting on charging me half-an-hour's labour to give me the error code to diagnose why the Engine Check light has come on. I normally don't mind paying for anything that the car needs, but I really do feel like I'm being shafted for a 30 second diagnosis.
It's obviously cheaper to buy my own reader; I've done some research and the ODB2 seems to be popular, so I'm looking at this one:
E-Bay Link
Has anyone got precisely this one ?
AquilaEagle: I note from a previous post that you have the "red one"; is it the same as this ?
Is there anything that I need to be aware of before I purchase ?
Many thanks,
Rob.

I can't see the ebay link ...... but I bought one from ebay and I keep it in the car. Came from the US IIRC and I think it is red.
Very simple to use. Just switch on the ignition, plug in the reader and tell it to get the code.
