I can never quite remember, but the spring rates of the PSS9 were something like 6Kg and 5Kg. Pleanty stiff enough for the road. But no, no seperate preload adjustment if that bothers you.

I don't think you're going to get better for

I notice that you run the PSS9's. Does the lack of proper height adjustment impede the usage?

How do they compare to stock in your opinion?

KW V3's are cheap and are liked in the US. Not sure if anyone's running them here in the UK. Might be worth a look.

They do have proper height adjustment. What they don't have is preload adjustment, but I've never had different so can't comment. It seems to me that's an advanced feature that's only worth it if you're able to set it all up properly. I don't think any of the Nitron boys really understand what it does either.

My stock dampers were knackered, so not suprisingly the Bilsteins are a big improvement. Not too hard, but you do suffer on bumpy B-roads. I sometimes wish they were a bit stiffer on track, but then trackday addict PJL was doing fine for a long time on PSS9s (though he had ordered some Ohlins).

Best thing I've done are the anti-bump steer rear arms, so you're on the right lines there.

What does the pre load springs / adjustment do? Are the sampers on the PSS9 adjustable for comp/rebound separately or one adjustment for both?

I am thinking about these. Do they create a jouncy ride on the road?

OK:

Ride Comfort and Performance Without Compromise

The piston head design allows independent tuning of the compression and rebound damping forces to provide optimum ride comfort and performance without compromise. It features fewer parts than most conventional designs. The product's simple, yet exceptionally functional digressive design contributes to the extreme durability and long life of Bilstein Shock Absorbers.

Hmmmm, AFAIK compression and rebound are NOT independently adjustable on the PSS9s i.e. the type of adjustment is the same as the Nitron Sport model. However, Dembo can clarify this.
