I picked up my 06 S2k a couple of weeks ago and have just noticed that the chrome face of the spokes are corroded and flaking.

It came from a main dealer with a year's warranty which probably won't cover it, but had anyone else had their wheels replaced because of this under the corrosion warranty?

I had wheels replaced on my S whilst under the 3 year warranty, don't know about a warranty from the dealer, worth a try though.

 

Mine was a year out of warranty when they started to corrode badly, so I took it to the dealer and asked them to consider a goodwill replacement. They declined.

So with the help of Satsuma who had experienced a similar issue, I wrote to Honda UK who agreed to replace them presumably at cost (it was around £400 plus fitting and balancing on top). I sold the old ones for more or less the same amount, so all in all it worked out well.

 

Honda refused mine under the extended 'Honda happyness' warranty. Both the centre caps and the wheels refused (like every other attempt to use the warranty).

 

Wheel corrosion isn't covered by the extended warranty or the anti corrosion warranty.

 

My auntie (who i bought my S off) had her wheels replaced due to corrosion free of charge by honda. I couldn't tell you what part of the warranty they were covered under though.

 

The original 3 year warranty covered wheels against corrosion. No other honda warranty does.
