Get it plugged rather than patched. About 15 squids.

I had mine plugged. I had 2 punctures in one tyre which were fixed using this method. It works fine

Get it checked out. If the garage think it's okay then get it repaired.

I've had at least three repairs on the S without a problem. The fourth one however was far too close to another repair so I had to replace the tyre

Dont forget they stuff a dirty great big reaming tool through the hole and waggle it about, possibly abraiding the cords both the steel ones and the man made fibre ones in the area of greatest stress on the tyre.

And it will bve a big hole looks like an M6 bolt in the picture, how long is it has it waggled about damage the side wall? Esp if you were driving it for a while at wastly reduced pressure!!!!

Usually,

They ream out the hole left by the object of deflation
They sand down and buff the area inside the tyre where the hole is
They use a patch with a tag of varying size that is put through the hole from the inside of the tyre , this locates the patch and plugs the hole, the patch is glued in

Lol, amazed how paranoid some people are...

If it really was that dangerous to fix a tyre would they really offer the service?!
