Default creaking roof

The roof/mechanism on my S creaks like a rocking chair, up or down and the worst thing is the creak is next to my right ear, so its just over my shoulder! Has anybody come across this themselves and lashed up a fix?
cheers keith

Sure it's not the seatbelt rubbing on the seat?

Check to see it's not the seatbelt first.
If it isn't, this may be of help, spotted on the US forums by Paper Lawyer last year:

Lubricate all the hood frame joints with spray lithium grease. Worked wonders on my car.

Guys, i stand corrected, during the 5 minutes of no rain yesterday I checked for signs of worn material as highlghted in the US thread bit nothing doing. Today coming into work I lifted the seat belt off the back of the seat and the noise vanished, tried it a few times with the same result; so IT IS the seatbelt, off to buy some velcro. Funny the guys in the States blame it on being short, Im 6 2 so thats not it!
Thanks for the advice

WD40 is NOT lithium grease! WD40 is not a proper lubricant (although many make the mistake of thinking so).

GT-85 from cycle shops works a treat.

Got teflon in it too apparently; cured all my creaks that were doing my sanity no good what-so-ever!

Propellant aroma isnt all that good though, but shifts quickly enough
