Default Diff oil

I am looking to change the transmission fluid this weekend ( MTF III ) but I also want to change the the diff oil. So many conflicting oils to choose from but the stand out recommendation is LE 1605 almasol diff oil. I cant seem to find it in the UK, is there another recommended oil I can use?

Cheers

I've had really good results with the Castrol Transmax range in other cars - seem to be good for troublesome units that have a bit of whine from the gearset, etc.
Millers CRX LS nanodrive is all I'll use in the racers simply because it's been outstanding for wear and power (fwiw once switched to this in one of the 4wd cars with tight plate diffs all around and a sequential 'box and picked up almost 20hp on a 400hp car, never seen that with oil before, although they did switch us to a thinner oil but there were no wear issues either) - but it's a bit on the pricey side.
Motul 300 or Competition is always a good bet for a stout oil too, I know a lot of old beam axle racers switched to that in their diffs when they were having wear issues with their usual cheap EP90/EP140's

Just looking at the spec sheet for 1605 it looks like Castrol Transmax Limited Slip LL 75W-140, or Millers Nanodrive CRX LS 75w-140 NT+ would sorta match in terms of operating viscosity. (they're both thinner cold but thicker at 100c) - although all 3 seem a fair bit thicker than OE spec.

Can't really speak for Amsoil or Redline or similar that the US side use a lot as I've barely used it, a little Redline for specific applications but not that I can compare against.
Used to run Fuchs a lot because I use shedloads of their damper oils, but had problems with synchro wear with their gear oils so avoided it since.

Go with the specs: SAE 90 GL5 Hypoid Gear Oil. GL6 is also listed but is obsolete.

SAE 90 used to have a wide viscosity range. The class was cut in half after our cars were built and SAE 90 and SAE 110 cover the lower and upper halves of the old spec respectively. Full synthetic 75W-110 is in my differential. I think it's Amsoil but the brand doesn't matter, just the spec

Long thread(s) abound. Many brands available in the US may not be available elsewhere.

Yeh, GL5 is the important bit. Mine's 75W110 Redline.
