Diff Oil
[QUOTE=rahula,Mar 9 2005, 12:08 PM] Right did a little more digging where to buy and what to buy for the rear diff and Castrol do indeed do two different synt oil. First is SAF-XJ but this is 75W140 but another one is SAF-XO and this is the right oil for us and is 75W90. Called my local BMW dealer and he does have the XJ in stock but no XO. Here is the link Castrol XO
Pain in the backside if you ask me trying to source these products unless I am doing something wrong. I just don't want to buy in bulk or pay

Well done Rahul (BMW - RWD cars - good thinking!) SAF-XO has to be the way to go I think (sorry to hear you don't want to go 50/50 though if I order some in - maybe they will seel me a lower quantity - I'm going to call them to find out).

I'll go 50/50 for the XO stuff mate, just give me a shout. Who will you be buying from?
Wo-wo-wo lads.
Read the Castrol SAF-XO Link:
It states:
"Castrol SAF-XO is specially designed and fully approved by BMW for use in all BMW final drives fitted with conventional (non limited slip) differentials. Castrol SAF-XJ should be used for BMW final drives fitted with limited slip differentials."
Surely since the S2000 has a Limited Slip Differential then SAF-XO is not appropriate.
