It only really inconveniences me when I'm going to a big event - football, GP, concert etc, when I have to walk miles to get to the event and am then shagged for the next hour or so.

But I never get round to doing it Probably because Amanda normally drops me off then goes and parks miles away.

One wheelchair owner who has turned up to two of the Arran meets. The car does have potential. Colin and Becky I believe

The attitude of this thread is a reason for not getting one for me also.

What attitude?

That I was surprised to see an S2000 in a disabled spot and assumed it was more likely to not actually be valid use of the parking space (for a multitude of reasons)?

That'll teach me for being honest Should have just left Scov to take the flak.

(Allan, I'd already made that point about eligibility or no)

(In retrospect, the title of the thread's a bit too non-specific and all-encompassing really. Never mind).

If you can barely walk 100 metres sometimes surely that impacts on how much concentration and effort you can put into controlling the car?

Despite a chronic and life changing illness, I've dragged myself to work, and have earnt the cash to buy myself a nice car. So now if I get a badge and park in a disabled bay, I get people looking at me and saying "he's not disabled enough to have a badge." Or "how can he afford a car like that". etc

I go back to my original question. Why are you suprised that someone who is disabled should drive an S2000? And what business is it of yours anyway?!

Okay, in Graham's defense it is not a car which I would say is practical for anyone with disabilities, I know Turtle gave his up because of knee problems. It can also be a sod to get in and out of (my dad struggles and he is 60), And finally the doors need to be opened pretty wide for access. So I was pretty suprised when I saw Colin and Becky turn up at Arran. Colin has had a wheelchair made up especially though and it fits perfect in the boot! He is also a great fan of the car and why not? It really is down to breaking the mould, bit like Honda owners average age being 50 really Good for you being honest Graham, you got the balls to take the flack.

If I bust myself paragliding I would still make every effort I could to keep the car as I enjoy the car and its following.
