Does coolant temps effect performance, and how to lower it?
I don't know how I would be able to test the thermostat opening, but like mr jim says, off the top of my head it's around 98 for the fans I think...
As far as bleeding the system goes,
Interior temp to hot, fans off.
Top rad up to full, leave rad cap off.
Turn engine on
Open bleed nipple on the front of the inlet (front right of the rocker cover) and put a length of pipe on it so the air can come out and the water can go back in
Keep checking for fluid levels in rad/expansion tank.
I've also (after reading on here) put a big bit of pipe on the rad filler and blowing into it to force all the air out of the bleed nipple on top of the engine....obviously taking care to not introduce more air into the system.
Worked for me before no problems, does that look right? I also read somewhere about doing it on a slope so the rad filler cap was the highest point, a good idea or no?
