I personally would have been tempted to apply my Zippo lighter to a combustable portion of the said vehicle.

Unless they have drastically changed the strength of the body panels in the last few years, Imprezas are very prone to dings. I had 9 when I returned my car to the lease company.

The best you can do is not park near a 4x4 or people carrier, as these seem to be the main culprit with the high bottom corner of the doors.

Oh yes.. Anybody who keys a car because they're upset doesn't deserve to own one. I really can't summon up any sympathy for the guy.

I can't believe that guy actually went mad and started scratching another car! As far as I am concerned he is more of an idiot than the person who put a 'ding' in his door in the first place - it could have been an accident, or a child in the back seat not being very careful etc.

The reason that some people drive a car that isn't a 20k brand new one is generally because they can't afford one! So, by Scooby-toss-pot scratching the other car he is incurring additional cost to the owner of the Astra which could mean that their child doesn't get a new pair of shoes... (possibly overegging the pudding now, but I'm outraged that the guy thinks he is justified in doing that to another car...)
