Pass door won't unlock with key or fob
Hi everyone, I have done search but unable to find the info.
Basically, the passenger door will not unlock with the fob or key. It has been like this for a few months now and it's really annoying. When I use the fob, I can hear the motor working, but nothing happens. I can even feel the tension on the switch in the handle change when I try to disengage.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Rich

There should/may be a rod between the actuator and the lock mechanism, sounds like it has come adrift at one end, you'll likely need to get the door panel off or at least free from the door enough to get your hand inside and work the lock manually I reckon.

Isn't the solenoid inside the lock mechanism like on other Hondas? Would still unlock wi't key.
I reckon the actuator (probably on the lock barrel) is as dry as a witch's...
That would interfere with the CL.But the whole shebag probably needs WD40/Lithium grease by now.

Thanks for the replies guys.
So you reckon I'll be able to get access to behind the door card without opening the door? Do you think i'll have to hack up the door card to sort this?

I reckon you'll struggle without opening the door - there is one push clip that sits in the door card up at the dashboard end and it's blocked by the dashboard.
You might ( if you open the roof) be able to remove the seat and get enough access to 'bend' the door card back far enough to get in - that's what i'd do. I presume you know how the door card comes off ...
Once you're in then it's going to be a case of poking and prodding until you find what has stuck / come off / broken.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread..
..but I had exactly the same problem, door would not open at all, and I was panicking as my MOT was due, and resigned myself to having the door card sacrificed to fix it. Then I read that it could just be all dried up.. so I lowered the passenger window, and through the gap at the top, at the rear of the door - I sprayed a shed load of WD-40 (using the straw) onto the rods and lock mechanism.. (you can see these parts if you peer through the gap). I also got the straw into a gap on the inside, where the handle is and squired a bit in there, spraying backwards inside the door. A couple of mins later, it was all working correctly. Result!
