My drivers side window make a horrible loud scratching noise when I lower it, on the way back up it is silent. The noise can only be described as rubbing chalk on a blackboard or metal on a ceramic tile, really high pitched.

There looks to be slight scratches on the window itself which will only get worse if left,if i slight pull the glass into the drivers seat direction.

Could this be down to the window coming loose in its holder? Is it easy to take the door cards off and check this myself?

 

I reckon there's sand or crap in the window rubber
Try taking the doorcard off and see if you can clean it out a bit

 

Bloody pest, althis usually happens with fiesta rather than the S. You may be able to clean the seal out with the window down and try spraying wd40 or the like down the window channel.?

 

I have this on my driver's side window. It's the rubber weatherstrip. Mine is broken and bends over when the window goes down but coming back up it's fine.
