Post Easy Oil Change

I've just seen this & I was wonderng if anyone had this fitted ?

If so, would they mind posting their thoughts.

It looks really easy as demonstrated by his girlfriend, but unfortunately, she's not available

If people are interested, would anyone be interested in either organising a GB and/or participating in one ?

This was asked a few weeks ago. A few weren't sure of it's capacity to provide a good seal on the sump, that it could snap off over rough ground or the valve would fail and empty your oil onto the deck at speed.

IIRC, someone said it might not be compatible with some front lower braces too. When the search is back online, I'll see if I can find the thread for you.

Thanks for that.

How did I manage to miss that !

The linked thread covers opinions from people who do lots of trackdays.

Not for me

Something else which can go wrong for no reason. If it made that much of a difference I would maybe consider it, but for the sake of undoing a bolt it's daft IMO

Yes, my thoughts.
Removal of a single plug is not particularly difficult or time consuming.
Removing the filter means you get a bit messy anyhow so I dont see the gains.
Just another pointless gadget and a smart marketing expert.

GB on the bird though?

She must have some grip on her to take that filter cartridge off with one hand

You don't need to jack up the car (according to the video).

That's got to be a plus point.

You will do when you engine goes 'pop' because the valve/seal inside fails for what ever reason.

Let us know how you get on! As I said though I wouldn't have one

If you can reach the valve by hand, you also reach the plug with a spanner anyhow?

Easy to clout this I reckon, and that much mass hanging out must be vulnerable to vibration or coming adrift.

I bet the idea would go down well on the circuits, not.
Ask MB what happens when a car in front dumps it's oil (on the 'ring).

Lazy yanks....
