Default EBC Brake Discs and Green Pads

The front brake pads need replacing fairly soon so i'm looking at replacing the discs and pads together.

What are peoples views on the EBC Turbo grooved and drilled (dimpled) discs together with the EBC green pads as they seem quite good value. Approx

Only know of comments from Subaru's but they are a good replacement. The RedStuff are very highly rated if you're hard on the brakes. Some people swear by standard ones which are much cheaper, and often perform as well. I personally dont like drilled ones, as they do weaken the disc is they are excessive.

Have a look here for cheap ones: http://www.brakesint.co.uk/

I am pretty sure Greenstuff pads are not rated for this power car.

A lot of the Audi people were using Greenstuff pads and there was a bit of a furore when it turned out the pads weren't suitable for turbo cars, or anything >200bhp (from memory).

go for the red stuff pads, more pricey but its your life

i have red stuff and have had them on previous cars, even when you drive like a hooligan you won't get fade with them.. better than stock.. as for the discs, i had those on my Xsara VTS and they seemed fine. don't look very though and they're on display under S alloys...

functionally they aren't that much weaker cos they're not drilled right through.. doesnt seem to bother porsche drilling discs either...

got discs from www.wallaceperformance.com based in scotland but they send straight out and normally get next day. prices for front and rear inc vat and delivery was about

I'm using the Red Stuff pads all round, need a little warming up to get good bite. The only thing is they squeal from time to time.

BTW on EBC own website when you input the S2000 you get this on the page..

"Notes: EBC Technical recommends using Redstuff compound for this model of car."

Thanks for your advice, think i'll avoid using anything EBC.

s2uk - Like the look of DBA discs and Mintex pads, good price too. I take it you've had no problems with them?

Have you guys declared your different brake pads/discs to the insurance?

(just curious before I think about this route)
