A lot of recommendations, but no mention of TDI North? Any reason?
I am located south of Coventry so will be around 100miles each way to TDI. Seems EFI is just around the corner from them.

The thing is I am having the HKS kit fitted in Birmingham so driving anywhere is tricky so will either need to trailer or find a base map from somewhere that is good enough to drive it on.
I wasnt aware you could lock the map and not the ECU?

At the end of the day your the one paying for this map so its yours, you don't pay someone to fit your boiler and you have no control over the stat!

It will have an EMS v2, 1000cc ID injectors and AEM 3.5bar map sensor

Cant remember what map sensor I ordered, but running exact same setup with 1000cc ID injectors.

I have fitted 95% of the kit. Will just leave the injectors out and connect old intake pipe to throttle body and drive the car to TDI. Will then be about an hours labour to fit injects, map sensor, belt etc.. About half the price of having the car trailered.

Agree with the statements about locking the map /ecu. Does not seem right you paying a lot of money for it then to be locked and only accessible by that one tuner.

Are you running AEM map sensor or one that sits in factory location?

Just looked, its a Hondata one that sits in OEM location.

As for the install, with a few basic toold, you can install the majority of the system over a weekend and still have the car drivable.

I have messaged TDI and waiting for a response from them regarding the locking of ECU / map.

For those wondering, I have just had this back from TDI when I asked about locking ECU.

"..ref the locking and the ECU is left unlocked."
