Default End of an Era

As some of you will know, my car has just been sold to a chap called Rick who frequents these forums.

Rick just came to collect the car now, and has just headed off down the road with her.

Mixed feelings really. I was doing the right thing (now totally debt free and in a position to get a house deposit together) but also it felt so wrong (my poor baby!)

Ricks promised to look after her, and use her as she was intended on the track, so its made the whole experience a lot more bareable (God I sound pathetic, its just a car, isnt it?)

I thought I'd use this thread to share a few great memories of the car ..

The test drive, leaning on the headlight washers at the lights and a lorry driver laughing his arse off at me and the salesman soaked in washer fluid

Cadwell Park. Just, wow. Everything that this car was about came alive at that track, screaming up the hill from the bottom straight through blind over crest corners was just amazing.

Every time the sun shone just a little bit when you had the roof down, and the paint shined right back at it.

Ricky runs, even when I did turn up late with no fuel !

Night time drives back to gloucestershire in the winter with the roof down. Seeing the starts as a backdrop to vtec through the A40.

I'm gonna do my best to stay active on here, with the intent that when the time reappears that I can once again have a performance car... the s2000 will certainly be on the list.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me over the years, to Lovegroova for the Ricky runs, to MB for having *THAT* S2000 3 years ago that made me fall in love with them, to Aquilla Eagle for S2KUK, and many others of you.. Its been great guys !

Nice to see your settling into the typical BMW owner profile

Conanius, I suspect you will be back once you have settled into house ownership.

Stick around though

PS - glad you liked my old silver one

I felt so sorry for you when I watched you see it off.
It's a very nicely looked after older car. Despite the weather I was grinning all the way home. Don't worry Gareth, I'll look after it and rest assured I'll enjoy it as much as possible on the road and track days.
I've been hankering after another S since I sold the one I bought from Roadkill on here.
I was in a similar situation (needing money for house renovations), and I'll never forget how I felt then.
I'm sure you'll get another one day as I have done.

Cheers for the nice car!
Rick

Oops, my profile still has Roadkills car on it, ahh nostalgia.... now changed.
