Default Engine management light on.. how to turn off

Ok I managed to flatten my battery whilst I left my S in an underground carpark for a few days. I have a feeling I did not lock the car as I needed to use it to charge my phone and the carpark is quite safe, full security etc and more fine cars down there than you could imagine (new flats at the New Glasgow Harbour) plently of rich people there.

Anyway I called out Green Flag and eventually got the alarm stopped by using a booster to start the car. All's good but now I have the engine managment light on. Is there anyway to turn it off, probably not other than going into a Honda dealer and getting them to reset it I guess. If so anyone know what that is likely to cost me. Obviously I need to do it as I will not know if something else goes wrong.

Cheers

Remove and replace this fuse ...... that will fix it.

Fuse box is under your right knee.

I would check what the fault code is first. Hopefully you havent fried the ECU - I think the manual says not to use a booster? prob just a blip that caused it though.

Dealer shouldn't charge you anything, but in reality it might be

Thanks, I'll take a look and in my usual inept manner will probably go to a Honda dealer.

Ok as normally happens I do nothing lol.

Well I was driving to my friends Sunday and I notice the ECU light has gone out all by itself, strange, it's still out and the car is working fine.

Has anyone else had that happen to them?

Should I worry or just get on enjoying my S?

It's not unusual for the ECU to re-set itself after the type of problem you describe.
Folklore says it usually take 100 - 300 miles to do this.
