I've had this twice now, both times the ECU has picked up a misfire on number 4 cylinder. The dealer has just done the tappets, as they can't find anything wrong. So far they have checked the Plugs and Lambda wiring.

Both times i have felt nothing!

I will keep you informed of progress.

Matey, I had the same problem and my 'S' is about the same age as yours!

It's all sorted now and from what I can gather it's tied in to the kangeroo problem I was having!

I really want to like supermarket fuel but having just put a tiger in the tank the car is performing much better, I don't see how the fuel can be the same as there is a noticeable difference, such a shame though that my supermarket petrol vouchers are gonna go to waste

The differences between petrol are in the additives they blend into the fuel. Branded petrol will have a consistent set formula. Supermarket fuel is undetermined as it is bought from different sources.
