Default Engine mounts?

Hi all. I picked my new S2000 yesterday (MY02) and noticed when driving home on the motorway that when putting my foot down the car would veer slightly in one direction, and when lifting off the throttle from speed it would veer in the opposite direction. Don't get me wrong, it's not trying to change lanes or anything, but it is quite distinct and noticeable.

Question is, is it something they all do and I'm not used to it yet, or is there something wrong, possibly with the engine mounts maybe?? I'm sure i've seen 'dampers' that go between the suspension top strut and the engine - would one of these help and does anyone have any particular brands to recommend?

Thanks

First, check the tyre pressures.

I had this when I had different tyre pressures in the rears, suggest you check this first.

edit: I am a slower typist than you lovegroova

100% not the engine mounts.

Most likely are pressures or a sticking brake caliper (i'd bet on it being the caliper)

As MB mentioned the calipers, you will find out that they are shite on the S2000. If your car is a few years old expect one to seize up in the middle of knowhere rendering your car immobile.

Nearly everybody on here at some time has had at least one seize up. I'd recommend before the winter to strip/clean and lube up all of your calipers/sliders.

I've replaced all of mine for recon units as the handbrake mechanism seized up on mine in Switzerland and one of the fronts was found to have a stuck piston during its 5year service.

Your issue defo sounds like tyre pressures though. If not then it could be the geometry out and needs adjusting?

Tyre pressures are 33psi rear and 30psi front. I've added 2 psi to the fronts but not had a chance to drive it again since!

Thanks for the tip on calipers - one of the things on my to-do list is to replace the brake fluid and fit braided hoses all round, guess i'll bring that up the list and check/rebuild the calipers at the same time
