It's not looking good. Just spoken with the garage and they reckon there is a problem with one of the valves which is either damaged or seized. They can't tell for sure and are going to have to take the cylinder head off to have a proper look at the engine.

They won't do it under warranty either. I think this is going to hurt

You didn't extend your warranty before getting the car in then (as per my earlier suggestion)? Could have saved you a fortune

Good luck, hope it doesn't get too expensive

I would check the MAP sensor first! Tends to play up a bit on the 'S'.

General procedure is to give it a few light taps then reset the ECU.

Do you have the one year engine warranty following the oil spray bolt recall (this should cover all parts of the engine surely)?

Sorry to hear that - I hope the damage is not too bad or the repairs are too expensive.

Oh dear?

It it just me, or does there seem to be an sudden outbreak of bendyvalveitis on early cars?

IIRC, this is about the third or fourth similar post in the last couple of months.

I was just thinking the same when i read that Nick - wonder if we're seeing the start of something.

Would be interesting to know what mileage the cars are at....
