Hi,

Thanks for the info. I do have a catch tank (cusco) it was one of the first mod's i did, there is a plastic sight tube on the side the is no sign of oil build up in there.
The plume is visible, the missis spotted the smoke when she was sat in traffic for a few minutes, she pulled off and looked in the mirror to see the smoke. Then the missis dad was following me yesterday coming up to an island going down the gears and again a plume of smoke, today missis driving car with me following again she was going down the gears and once again a plume of smoke. It is quite intermittent. The problem has not altered the performance just a bit unsightly and its using a bit more oil than normal. The pic is quite an old one so don't take the piss to much, the catch tank is behind the expansion tank.

your PCV is still connected to the intake.. and more oil apparently comes from there than the front (apparently).

do you have a CAT fitted?

Hi Kobe,

I have a decat, excuse my ignorance but which part are you referring to (PVC) do you mean the pipe on the right of the intake?

Thanks

Kris

OK.. not complaining, but to speed this up..when you put your first problem statement in the thread... everything you have modified to your car is relevant information..

so for example, without a CAT.. the car will smoke in it's normal operation..

the PCV is a small valve/device which allows air to flow in one direction only.. it is positioned between the dipstick and the oil filler cap.. and you will see a right angled black fitting..with a black flexible pipe to the intake manifold. The PCV blows from the rocker cover into the manifold.

Ok here's the list.

J's header
J's Decat
Kakimoto exh
HKS intake
Spoon TB
cusco catch tank
Hondata gasket
Spoon earth straps
Buddy club stabilizer
NGK plugs
Greedy sandwich plate for gauges and the oil temp is norm as is the pressure

J's stat
Spoon fan switch

I can not think of any thing else, i know some of the stuff is not related but it might shed some light. I will give the valve a clean later at work.

Thanks

Kris, my car was chucking out increasingly funny coloured smoke a few weeks back, then the CEL came on. Replaced the map sensor (which I had coincidentally ordered shortly before but not fitted) and 700 miles later it's still fine plus usual idle improvements etc.

Are you still on the original map? Worth a try if so for a few buttons from HTG.

it's worth a clean out.. it's sort of a ball bearing thing inside, so it might stick if gummed up with oil vapour.

I have connected this valve to my catch tank.. however my car still blows some smoke when no CAT fitted... when accelerating after driving for a while slowly..

as soon as the CAT is back in.. the smoke goes away.. ?

Hi Jel,

The spoon TB comes complete with a new sensor, the TB has been on about 18 months.

Thanks for the tip.

Hi Kobe

I have removed the catch tank and will give it a clean later as well as the valve, regards the valve were it sits is dirty a lot more than norm so you might be on to something. The odd thing is i have been driving it today with out any sign of the smoke, I will let you know what i find.

Thanks

I cleaned out the catch tank and found nothing wrong in there but when i cleaned out the valve that was a different story i used a can of electrical cleaner on it before the fluid ran through clear. So at the minute just a case of suck it and see.

Thanks for your input.
