Default Engine Warning Light came on

As the title suggests, I took the other half to work this morning and the engine light came on, so I drove it carefully back (About 2 miles) and called the AA.

Within 20 minutes the AA turned up and plugged their computer into the car and it came up with fault codes P1411 and P1412 which i can't seem to find listed on the Technical thread.

The codes have been removed from the ECU and I have taken the car for a good run and the Engine Warning light has not come back on.

Does anyone know what the fault codes are??

looks like air pump related issues.
ime, codes that are close to each other are similar/related issues than those surrounding it...

theres nothing specifc after a quick search, but does appears to be a standard ODB-II code.

After locating the Air Pump fuse, it is ok and have checked all the pipes in the engine bay, all looks good there. My next job will be to check the relay, if i can find it!!

I have a 70 mile drive to work in the morning, if the CEL light comes on again in the mornnig when i start the car, will it be safe to drive?

Thanks

The air pump is used on cold starts and is there for emissions reasons. So you may find that starting the car when warm will not use the air pump and so no error. You might find that you get the error again once you've let the car cool enough for the air pump to be used at start up.

You'll want to get it fixed if only for peace of mind and hiding the annoying light. If you only have an air pump problem it will be fine to drive it as normal.

Thought I would add my bit here about the P1412 error code.

My engine warning light came on whilst driving, within a few minutes I noticed the engine was making a lot more noise than usual and there was a burning smell in the cabin. I pulled over and noticed that air was being pumped into the engine like crazy and wouldn't stop.

Honda report: air pump relay switch failed which meant the air pump would not turn off until it burnt the motor out. Cost to replace air pump from Honda, £2000. Thank god I bought that extended warranty last March as they said it was an electrical failure and is covered.

If this happens again to me, I'm pulling the battery out to save the air pump!
