Default EPS Problem

Hello,

my EPS seems to have gradually given up over time. Initially the EPS light would appear intermittently and would go off if i started the car with the steering in full locked.

the EPS light is now on permenantly and I have no power steering. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the connectors and giving the gold unit a thud (as recommended incase the relay was stuck) and neither of these have worked.

What should my next port of call be? should I replace the EPS unit? is there anything firther I can do/check before i start replacing parts?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried the reset procedure? Doesn't sound like it'd work; you probably need to try replacing bits.
