Default Flywheels...

Just wondering how much of a difference a lightened flywheel would make to acceleration? I was looking around and apparently the standard flywheel is 15lbs or 6.8kg, the toda flywheel is 3 kg lighter.

How much of a difference would this make to the drive ability of the car? Would it be very noticeable? And combining this with a 4.44 final drive, would this be a good investment?

I've just had a 4.7Kg/10.4 lb RPC flywheel fitted, I didn't time 0-62 with a before and after but I'd say you can feel the torques reaching the diff/rear a bit more and it feels revvier.

I don't think there are any downsides - idle is fine, pulling away is fine - you don't need higher revs than with standard, so going even lighter with the Toda to 3.8Kg should be fine too.

A good mod for NA I think, the only pain would be getting the 'box out, so something to do when you clutch is on its way out I reckon.

It'll make no difference to the acceleration. I could get all silly and pull out some angular velocity/acceleration calcs and prove that the net affect is about 1.5bhp or something else that is completely trivial.

What it does do is aid the driveability of the engine.
