Too many sub fora would make things difficult. I think a couple might help

For sale will be moving to a classifieds section, outside of the forums at some point, anyway. no need to do that currently due to volume of UK threads.

I like Bibbs' idea of specifying which sections to have displayed in a page with new posts.

A sort of expansion on the My S2K subscription area but showing all new threads from a specific forum rather than having to subscribe or contribute to each one.

So you could "tag" 'UK Meets', 'Site Info', 'Electronic' for example and you'd see just those sections in your "personal" page.

(and have, in fact, just made a post to Site Info detailing that very suggestion, before someone says "well bugger off to Site Info then" )

It's called Under the Hood, Mark!

I don't think there are enough hard-core technical threads on the UK board for it to warrant a sub-board of its own.

Have you been in there LL?!

I spend time lurking in there, but the are a big contingent who find it more helpful to berate you for suggesting anything they dont agree with. A lot of keyboard warriors. I think Mikey / Bada got the raw end of the stick in a recent post.

Plus many of the mods the US guys have access too are not available here, or on a different wavelength... The normal technical problems are well dealt with and the FAQ's are very good, but mods is a different subject.

Is that a rhetorical question? I thought my technical ineptitude was sufficiently legendary to require no explanation! No. I haven't read in there other than the occasional drop in to see what kind of hard core spanner-monkeying they discuss

I just don't think there are enough technical threads, and perhaps more importantly knowledgeable posters, on the UK board to make it worthwhile. The usual suspects who would read and respond to those threads already see them where they are.

(I should perhaps declare my prejudices and say that I'm quite strongly against having a multiplicity of sub-boards. Too many of them fragment the community, increase the chances that people will miss threads because they can't be arsed to view all the different forums and I'm not at all convinced that they're necessary)

Ah, wasn't aware of your techincal prowess! I just find it can get a bit hostile in there, if you dont know much. Some are very helpful, but soem of the mods are not.

I agree on not liking masses of sub forums, but I think a lot of the posts on the UK board are based on techie probs or mods questions. Im no expert but I can help on some things where I do have knowledge, and can find the relevant posts easier. When I logon those are the I posts I look for so maybe I find it a bit harder to see them all Probabaly some engineering trait too, where I like things sorted in date / alphabetical / rank order

Same for the likes of Turtle too, he doesn't come on much but his only interest is techie stuff and has a lot to offer. For those who want to talk techie or help others it would be a great move I think! Biased though

The main forum would then just become general S2000 / car chat.
