Probably a good idea to set the width as that of the S plus the full extension of the door opened as a minimum otherwise you end up with the above pictures

One little trick my gran used to use to set the correct distance to park the car in to the garage was to hang a plumb-line from the roof that would touch the windscreen at the correct distance in (driving forward) Could maybe try something similar instead of the drive in until I feel resistance method

Normal single garages are just under 8foot wide. Park close to the passenger side and there should be enough room to half open the drivers door to get out. Use a parking mate on the floor and wall.

Right then - Here's what I've got so far:

Width of S2000 - 68.9inch = 1.75m

Proposed internal width of my garage 2.7m (8 ft 10 inches)

What I can't find at the moment is a figure for width of an S with one door fully open??

Just measured: open door edge is about 950mm from side of car when fully open

Dont worry if you scrape the side of that grey S on the garage wall it wont show as the primer is the same colour as the topcoat

Thanks that really useful - Looks like the door won't fully open - But should be wide enough to get in and out without a struggle

If you can make the garage 9 ft 6 ins inside it will make all the difference is only one brick more. does not change the sive of door you use and you can bias the space to one side relative to the door.

I had a garage built and the dimensions were 11.5ft wide and 19ft+ in length. If I park the car in the middle, I can open both doors to the first click - but if I park to one side I can open 1 door fully.
