Gear selection trouble
Guys,
I am having an intermittent problem with selection of 4th and 5th gears.
It always seems to be after I select reverse.
It is almost as if the reverse gate is left open
Ill be asking the dealer to look at it during the seatbelt recall.
Just wondered if any off you guys have had this problem and what was the root cause...should I be demanding a new gearbox ??
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
AnDy.

Re. your gearbox problems:- I've experienced no problems at all with either gearbox or clutch (7000+ miles)
However, I was in Brindley Honda at Cannock today and they asked me if I had had any clutch/ gearbox problems. I was told that they had attended to some problems under warranty. From the impression I was given it's a known issue and I don't think you'd encounter any opposition if you asked for replacement of both!!!
BTW I was offered a straight swap for a blue one for my car plus

Thanks Cedric, thats good info to know.
I rang the dealer I bought the car from Cobridge Honda, they are going to diagnose the problem then attend as necessary. Im having the seatbelt recall done at the same time.
Brindley supplied my CRV, I have been very happy with them in the past.
I should really deal with them as they probably see more s2000's than the other dealer I use.
Do you travel through Stafford at all, I have seen a silver red with a more senior person than me (in age terms) once. Its the only silver I have seen on the road.

Hehe.. AnDy... "more senior" is very diplomatic!!!!LOL I haven't been into Stafford itself but I do visit a mate of mine who lives just off the A34 just before Weeping Cross from time to time and we do like to VTEC around Cannock Chase and Milford sucking the local wildlife into the slipstream. (Just kiddin).
I'm unmistakeable actually with the sun glinting off my 'chrome dome'. I have a selection of headgear but look a prat in all of 'em so I just go 'as is'. We are actually monitoring this meet thing and are very interested. Leicester area sounds good so we'll hopefully get together at some stage... Hope your gearbox thing works out. Truthfully I can't speak highly enough of Brindley Honda.... so far anyway!

I've done over 300 miles top down pleasure motoring this weekend.
The gearbox problem certainly seems to be the reverse gate staying open intermittently
Just hope its a simple fix, the box is very sweet otherwise.
Had a good encounter with an orange Evo 6 (or maybe 7 not sure), I gave up at 110 as my wife was covering her eyes
Im at nearly 3000 miles now and I'm sure this car is getting faster all the time.

My problems were with the standard 1 and 2nd gear grind, it's the first time I've heard one with 4th and 5th.
My problem seems to be one that Honda has little problem with changing under warranty.
