Default Geo help please

Hi all sorry I havent been on here for a while work and other things were getting in the way of my fun.

Anyway I've just blagged 2 free days off ( today and tomorow ), I've fitted the new rear n/s wishbone to my 1999 s2k and now it needs a geo.

I live in thatcham in berkshire( 40 miles west of london ), TGM who I usualy use are booked solid so is there anywhere else I could go to get it done ?

I'm also after the standard smooth road geo set up data for a 1999 s2k with standard 16 inch wheels.

ta in advance _

if it's just to get it in tolerance while you get a proper job done (or to get it set at values you want), try your local tyre shop.

Cheers guys, I've found somwhere in swindon that seem to know what there doing, what I'm after now its the stock and smooth road ( stable at high speed) settings.

the swindon place want £80 which sounds reasonable for the work, they do have the standatd values on file I just want to lookm at those and the smooth road set up and see the difrence before I decide.

They should have standard settings, but the "skill" is getting things close all round.

For example, the standard rear camber setting is -0°30' [-1°30' ] +0°30' which means that anywhere between -1° and -2° is ok. you need to make sure that whoever sets it up sets everything up symmetrically.

Equal & opposite is important.

You can 'fine-tune' it once you've got used to the car & decide what you prefer. I like less toe-in & less caster for quick turn-in & throttle-adjustability.

Others are happier with a more 'directionally stable' set-up.

If you're a cornering nut, 16"ers could benefit from an extra 1/4 or even 1/2 degree of camber.

ask for a print-off. they they try to pull the "but it's within tolerance" game, then it's on par with different tyres on the same axle; you have to have the same either side!

£80 is cheaper than my local (they charge per adjustment). i think i got £120 bill at my local with all but 1 or 2 adjustments.

Right update time.

I had the geo done at imperial tyres in swindon.

The bloke doing it knew his stuff and it took him about 3/4 of an hour, I had made sure all adjusters were free before hand.

The car now handles mutch better.

The bigest difrence in the symetery after set up was in the rear camber lhs being 1.25 and the rhs being 1.32 well within the + - 0.3

nice place and had no problems letting me have a look around under the car when it was on the ramp.
