Sold my 2005 with 62k for £10,500 18 months ago and that was as a px. So the price is not too bad. I think that these are now being priced on condition rather than on age and mileage.

That's a strong, and may I say cracking selling price for 18months ago. A lot has happened to this market, it could be different this year with rising fuel, horrendous insurance.. even the trusted insurance brokers are beginning to take the p*ss and nit pick.
These cars are still being priced on condition, mileage and age though I feel is factored in. 2005 cars are still getting on as old cars, 7 years now obviously. 10k is 56-07 territory.

For info on the road tax-

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring...le/DG_10012524

As you can see there is no tax rate of £149, if the car was registered before 23 March 2006 its £260, after 23 March (like mine) a ball squeezing £460 p.a.

if you buy at that price you are a MUG. And from what i have read so far you don't seem to fit that criteria so i'd boo it off and look elsewhere mate.

Let us know if the seller turns up wearing a jester's outfit!

If its mint, offer him a grand less and see if he accepts its always worth being cheeky I would never pay the asking price for a car.
