Default Hello and help!

Hi folks

New here and straight away I ask for help!

I looked on the search engine to try to find a solution, found a similar post but symptons aren't quite the same.

I recently had my alarm unit replaced (with another 'official' one) because it burnt out so I hope it's not this but...

I noticed that recently when I put the key in the ignition and switch on the immobiliser/engine lights flick with a clicking sound. Then it stops and everything appears normal - for now!

Any ideas what this might be? I haven't been using the car so much recently - last used it a couple of weeks ago and this problem came and went. Tonight I tried the car and the problem happens - and I need to use it tomorrow!!!

Many thanks.

Sq.

Are you from the UK?

Your badge says USA

Will the car start?

Did this happen straight away after the alarm was fitted?

I would take the car back to whoever fitted it and let them sort it.

Could be a flat battery though.

Sorry, I am from UK. I'll sort that.

Update: I just drove the car and the flicking immobiliser light did not come on when I drove but intermittently the engine light flicked on with some loss of power - just momentary as though I reached the rev limiter, that slight jerk you get.

It 'seemed' to happen less frequently the more I drove so could be battery, like you say?

I have had the battery run down some months ago and recharged it (that time it was properly flat and when I tried to start the car I just got the clicking) so that make sense.

Does that still sound like the battery to you? If so, I'll nip into my friendly local Honda dealer and buy a new one!

Many thanks again.

It could be a dodgy earth connection, dislodged during the fitting of the alarm.
