Default Help!

well tonight I have tried to remove the stereo to try and use the cd changer I have. Sadly this can't work as the changer has a round plug, but the head unit has a square socket.....

Anyway, I tried to refit the flap/air vents and initially it looked ok but didn't sit right at the bottom. The clips were slightly bent so realigned them, but still no joy. So is there a knack of refitting the stereo surround so it sits as it left the factory?

Thanks.

I had this.

The nack is that the bottom clips are bending downwards and missing the holes in the dash.

I bent them up a bit before refitting, and ended up having to get a slim screwdriver down the side to push them up so the click into their holes.

The satisfaction when they pop in place is nice

I found it easier to remove the gear lever surround/centre trim.

Chris.

fwiw, it seems only the later consoles need to be removed (those with the sliding center console?). this with the flip-up cupholder earlier style dashes dont need to remove the console.

+1, makes it a doddle.
To remove fingers under the edges and lift up working along it's length.
