Default Help with air filter

My S is now finished and road legal, just got to fit the standard airbox - the car came with no filter on (As the old engine was knackered, new engine in and fine) so I am unsure on the airbox.

I can see how the airbox fits, but what are these two valves and where do they go?

Also, am i missing something off the inlet pipe? I assume the breather pipe on the right hand side of my engine bay fits in there, but it won't fit at the mo as the pipe has nothing to fit on to?

The one in the second picture screws onto the side of the airbox where the inlet tube fits, not sure about the other, would take pics but battery in camera flat.

Air control solenoid valve for heating up of the CAT when running an air pump located in the bumper for emissions.

Looks like you have two! there should only be one mate!

A k&n fipk install manual is actually useful to see where they are plugged in, most of that shit has gone on my car and i cant remember.

As AJ says you only need one Solenoid. You should also have a small back plastic box (vacuum accumaltor) about the size of a pack of butter, that fastens to the cross beam behind the airbox. The tube you have strapped to the cross member fits to the air intake pipe where you have the hole but as you say you have something missing there too - I think there is usually a metal nipple in that hole that the air pipe clamps into.

Is one of them not the control solenoid and the other the check valve? That hole in the last one is for the sensor thing. Great help I am, makes me wonder how I ever fitted my FIPK

Thanks for the help guys, just to clarify the valves are different - which made me wonder where both went lol.

They also look to be missing some vacuum pipes?

You can buy the vacuum lines on eBay for a few quid. I looked at the Aem fitting instructions and it tells you exactly what diameters and lengths you need.

So as it stands, the valve that is on my ccrossmember has 2 open inlets/oulets, and the valve thats hanging has one inlet/out let free - can anyone tell me where the vac pipes run to from these?

Luckly I have some vac hose so connecting isn't an issue, i'm just want to make sure i connext them up to where they should be.

Would someone be so kind to possibly take a few snaps of their airbox and these valves so i can see what im missing? |That way with the pics and the diagram kindly supplied above i should be able to get it all in right

( i can see where the hanging valve should fix - there is a bolt on the edge of the airbox so i assume it fits there as the pipes won't let it go any further, but the valve that is on my crossmember - i have no idea where that could fit!)

Have a look at this mate, section 11 and 14 are the valve and solenoid. They then run up to pipes near the throttle body(section 10), I'll try and get picks tomorrow.
