Default Help Needed (glue!)

I went out to car parked on the drive to find that the self adhesive velcro pad that i use to secure the bell 550 has melted on the dash
I have removed said pad & most of the glue but still have a slightly sticky glue patch @ 5 sq inches. I tried wet soapy cloths & isopropyl alcohol

any ideas

will be much appreciated

thanks

Snapper the exact same thing has happened to me yesterday. I found that if you leave the glue patch to get hot in the sun again, then peel it off whilst gooey it comes away like silicone. It will also stick to itself so once you have a ball of the stuff you have removed, use this to remove the rest (as you would with blue tack)

Its a sticky orrible business but it seemed to work.

Another thing to try is very thin oil...... like Eucylyptus or Albas oil...... these will usually shift nasty sticky messes and leave the car smelling nice to boot!

with Wad, thin oils are great at this stuff with no lasting damage

I found a glue mark (epoxy resin?) on the black plastic trim just under my window. I was advised to use nail polish remover to get it off. It removed the glue with no obvious side-effects (e.g. discolouration or changes to the finish). Try it on a hidden part first.
