Hey everyone, yet again I have got another question for you

When I start my car it idles at just over 2000 revs then after a few minutes it's revs at 1000. Is this normal? and what should the car idle at?

Also on the way home today when ever I took it out of gear the revs dropped below 1000 and the car seemed as if it wanted to stall but then idle just under 1000, it done this for about 15 minutes.
I took the induction lid off the other day to see what it would sound like, would it be anything to do with this?

Sounds about right.

It idles higher when cold and then settles down - no different to pretty much every other car I've ever driven.

 

Think I asked this a while back, mainly cos I thought 1k was a tad high for the idle speed, all seems normal.

 

+1 Asked at a Honda garage and I'ts normal was told it was to maintain oil pressure better than the usual 800 or so, smelt a bit like BS to me.
