Default Hole in the boot?

Okay, lifted up the bit in the well of the boot and I have some tools in there and a big space in the middle of the black polysterene like stuff, is there supposed to be a jack in there, or is it somewhere else?

Thanks in advance

Well, the jack (naff scissor type) should be in that polystyrene container. But the big rectangular space in the middle is where I keep the folder containg the instruction manual, service history book etc.

I think it's for a first aid kit. My German spec first aid box fits there quite nicely. I believe some people have used this space to fit a CD changer. There are also some straps at the back of the boot which I presume are for fixing the warning triangle.

As IanL will testify, a CD changer can be mounted beneath (attached to) the passenger seat. This is both less intrusive to install and doesn't sacrifice any boot or storage space.

I seem to remember that the straps are for a wheel should you get a puncture, the straps are supposed to be used to secure the wheel....
