Default Horn Issue

Hi All

i seem to be having a rather embarrassing issue with my horn at the moment.
There is obviously some sort of wiring issue or a short connection as it seems to be going off whenever i turn my steering wheel right.
As you can imagine this is a complete nightmare and i have p*ssed a lot of people off on my journey to work this morning !
i need to disconnect the horn as a temporary fix until i can sort out the wiring or whatever the problem is.

I was unaware the 2002 pre facelift model had a two horns ( high and low pitch ). I've found the low pitch horn and disconnected it, but i didnt have time to look for the high pitch, so to make things worse it sounds like a moped horn!
Looking at a few photos it seems the high pitched horn is located infront of the radiator, is this correct? Can i get to this without removing the bumber?
I've also located the fuse to the horn in the engine bay, but i've read this fuse also covers a few other things on the car, does anyone know what else this covers? i don't want to unplug it if it's going to cancel out something else.

Cheers all!

Haha can just see that, bet you wish you had red interior so you could vanish !

As for help I have no idea other than work late and drive back when the roads are quiet to avoid further embarrassment. That or call your breakdown recovery for it being it is dangerous. Worth a call to them.

Haha my seats are red! But my face was way too red to blend in with them!!!

And Ben, thanks for the link, as per my post i mentioned i read on another thread that the horn fuse was also responsible for a few other things, i just wanted to clear that up before i unplugged it.

Cheers !

Maybe pull the horn relay in case the "STOP" fuse is something important

My involuntary horn issues tend to coincide with the appearance of Rachel Riley on my television.

Pull the fuse on the SRS (you don't want an ISIS/Takata moment!) and then remove the centre boss of the steering wheel.

There is a coil of wires behind the wheel which allow it to turn and you want to find where the damage/short is fairly quickly. You really don't need it shorting to the airbag circuit.
