tell him to tuck his shirt in and get a hair cut

(sounding more and more like my dad every passing year )

Surely 3rd party only on a beater shouldn't be that much? Sad state of affairs if it is

Having been through this recently with 2 kids.

you really need to be keeping with a small fiesta or similar

We plumped for the clio , got sdtreet cred and so reliable , and the insurers love them .

From our experience Direct Line and Tesco offer the most competitive quotes for youngsters.

the premiums reflect the likelihood of an accident

unfortunately, said accident could result in multi-million pound payouts for 3rd parties

so not a lot to do with having a valuable car

a more powerful car just increases the chances that it will be driven faster, which in turn raises the chances of an accident

but of course, a terrible accident can occur at 50mph

which is why high premiums are pretty much unavoidable, until the driver has some experience under their belt

maybe we have an underwriter here who can explain it better
