trouble is i dont have access to ramp to look! tonight i think i will get the car jacked up, and check for play in the wheel, and swap my front wheels around to see if it changes/goes to the other side of the car.

You may be able to see from looking in the engine bay with a torch.

That was mine before when it was touching when turning left.

Ok so at the weekend i got the car on jacks and looked for play in either of the front wheels, their was none that i could tell, i then tried to spin each one, passenger one span fairly easily, but drivers side not so much, i got the caliper off and then tried to spin the hub and it span a lot easier with no noise, i noticed on of the pads had a indent where it looked as if the disk had been rubbing or catching more than on the rest of the pad.

What could cause this? sticky piston/carrier? i seem to have good breaking performance, and car does not pull to one side or anything like that, also the wheel does not feel any warmer than any other after a 10mile drive, going to clean up the brakes with some brake cleaner and clean the carrier pins and re-lube, but im unsure what to use re-lube the pins, preferably something available from Halfords?

When the noise happens, do you feel it through the steering wheel at all?
Yes, it is felt through the steering wheel, as soon as the noise starts it is felt through the wheel.
Something is touching the steering column then, most likely the manifold. I *think* lowering will reduce an already slight gap between the two.

Mine did it but when turning left, Performance AUtoworks put a shim on the passenger side engine mount to move it a few mm which so far seems to have cured it.

In the 7 years I've owned S2000's, all of which have been lowered significantly I have never heard of this problem nor have I ever read another post on the forum about it either. Most people do use rack spacers though so that could make a difference?

Hi
I use Red Rubber grease on the sliders, it does not perish the seals and stays viscous.
Copper grease hardens after a while and can cause the sliders to stick.

BTW there is a classic and sports car meet at the Lock keepers 2nd Wednesday of each month, 6pm ish start, all kinds of stuff turns up!
