Default ICE advICE :)

I'm planning on putting some new audio equipment in my s2k and I'm not really sure what parts install. I'm not planning a massive install just something to give my tunes a nice kick. I already have a Pioneer DEH-P7600MP 4x50w headunit and I'm looking to put new speakers in the front (components) and a sub in the boot (side mounted). I mainly listen to heavy metal/rock and my budget is

Are you planning on building your own sub box for to fit in the boot, or are you looking at importing an WLaurent enclosure?

If you want to use the HU to power the fronts and an amp to power the sub, then I'd recommend you get an Alpine, JL audio (e series) or Rockford mono amp powering a JL 8W0-4 sub.

For the doors, I see you have a 2000, I'm not that familier with which are good coaxial speakers in the S, I know a few are running JBL's personally not my favorite speaker. I'd go for Infinity 6502i or Boston FX6, but go somewhere you can listen to them 1st, even in an artificial environment you'll get an idea of which sound you prefer, typically the Infinity's have stonger highs and less bottom end, but the sub could help out at the bottom anyway.

Im planning on making the sub enclosure myself; which should help me keep the cost down for the rest of the kit. Thanks for the advice.

Cheers.

Hi mate

I would go for 6.5's in the front some Spods in the back and a decent amp, a sub in the boot wont help much. You can get ones that will fit under the passenger seat. IMHO of course.
