Default Ignition Issue

Evening,

Any documented issues with ignition issues? Last couple of weeks I've noticed that switching the ignition to live when starting has just left a dead dash. Going back to Accessory and back again always fixed it though.

Today it became more interment and the car cut out at a junction just after starting it. I have a Autowatch alarm fitted and suspected the immobiliser kicking in but wanted to rule out any potent entail relay/switch issues first before I start messing with the alarm.

Any thoughts?

How many miles? Could be a worn ignition barrel. Failing that, the contacts behind it would be worth looking at.

58k total. She's a '99 but low mileage for the year.

I may get the meter on it.

Fluke has arrived, just as well as the bloody thing shut itself off again while I was driving.

Update - Auto electricians possibly suspect the alarm. Bypassed the ignition relay so if it occurs again it'll just cut the fuel pump and I will know if its the car or the alarm.
