Default Import spec's

Hi
does anybody know how to find a Jap import specification, I have been told that the diff has another ratio than UK cars so I was wonderin what else is different. I contacted Honda UK and they basically said stop botherin us with your dirty foreign import (they said it very nicely using different words but I got the message) Is there a way to trace the vin number to a build specification?
Any help with this would be appreciated

whoever told you about the diff..would be able to tell you all the other stuff as well...since that's quite a significant detail...

never heard about the diff story by the way, what is different?

trying to be helpful here...but there are a lot of differences, most not important ..for example the handbrake "on" indicator on the dash is different...to the battery size is different,

but then more significant ones... the car does not have the aero strakes underneath it..the compression ratio is different...

Depends what you need the information for, SVA??

I don't need the info for anything formal I just like to know what I have
If there is a difference is it better, worse or just different
not to bothered with cosmetics but performance and handling are important.

Dash only reads in KPH- Changed for the SVA test
Thinner Head Gasket /higher engine pressure meaning up to an extra 10BHP if run on 100RON fuel
No front light washers
Fog is optional extra - Added for the SVA test
Extra little compartment behind the ash tray, perfect for dropping money in and not being able to get it out
Radio FM frequency runs from about 75Mhz to 90Mhz (no Kiss 100 with out a converter )
Car is limited to 113mph.
Car will not be under sealed

Other than that should be exactly the same as the UK spec.

Unhappy

Now I am confused!!!!!
I have some of the things that I am not supposed to have like headlight washers
I don't have the money eating pocket, the function is there to switch between KPH and MPH (it looks standard) It will def go faster than 113 MPH
Yet the vin plate is the type identified as coming from a JDM

IIRC, some of the early JDM imports had a very aftermarket rear fog light and were fitted with headlight washers. There was some confusion over the SVA rules and if washers were required.

Are you sure it ain't a EU import?

Or maybe if you bought it in the UK from someone else who imported it then they may have carried out some UK modifications (dash) etc.
