Default Injector electrical connector

Slightly annoying problem: I bought an injector from the US, which works absolutely fine and looks exactly the same. But no amount of pushing or prodding will make the electrical connector click into place on it. I can't see any visible difference, and have tested the connector still fits to the old injector to make sure nothing is broken on it.

It's already come loose a couple of times and caused a slight misfire, which isn't good.

Anyone had similar when replacing injectors?

When we have problems getting connectors to go together, we use a cable tie to hold them together and get a good connection. Bit of a bodge but it works so...
