Insurance query
I am shortly going to be buying an S privately (fingers crossed) and will have to switch companies as for some stupid reason my current company won't let me have the remaining 4 months of my policy on an S as I'm not 28?! (27 now)
It would be 5 years NCB in Oct but if I transfer now will only be able to take 4 over
Question is, whats the crack with my current car - which I will be selling (and hence will need to drive), but can I still leave that insurance and take over 4 for my S on a different policy? or is it one or the other? or is it a policy from scratch for one of them?
OR could I drive the current car with no insurance on it as 'another car third party' from the S policy?
Agghhhh!
No doubt I will give them a buzz tomorrow and get an answer but just wondered if anyone might know here?

I had 2 cars with them both on protected policies. Even when I moved my S to another company they maintained the NCB on the CRV

Admiral are who I will most probably get the S insurance with, but I would only want my current car for the remainder of its term (4 months) to enable me to sell it.
By that logic do you think that Admiral would allow me to have the other policy running AND the no claims period from it for my S?

Watch out for the "another car third party" insurance. I seem to remember that it only applies to vehicles not owned by you and insured by someone else. Plus I think it might be an offence to leave an uninsured vehicle on the road.
