Default Interesting airbox...

For a long while I have been thinking of designing an airbox for the S. While the standard intake is very good, I was thinking of something quite different. I doubt there is much to gain here, without other mods - before anyone starts on me!

I had a Gruppe-M intake and it was very good, but I though the inlet design could have been better - the ASM adresses this but its even moe expensive than the

The problem is space and availability in the S engine bay for a suitable intake that satisfies those requirements.

I know there arnt many open examples but look at the HKS for S, its rubbish.

Depending on if you belive, the stock intake suffer with the lid off.

IMO can you improve on the stock intake?, yes but not by much.

I'd go along with the point on the stock box, its pretty good.

But reove it and you have a massive space to play with and plenty of room through the wings for ducting!

That does look weird though, with the angled rad too .. must have some method of pushing air up into the rad, and then an area for it to go.

Double intake at the front and a vented bonnet?

Found a pic of the non ITB one, looks like with standard rad setup too.

Scroll right to the bottom.

Do you see the really nasty silver duct pipe Greddy supplied I want to try and run a decent intake to the filter from somewhere and construct a shield for the filter.

Nice

I'd be tempted to ditch it at the nearest joint / connection and go for a K&N type. Not sure that one will be the most efficient desing as its quite small in surface area, and the flow won't be good into the pipe at the back IYSWIM.

For the feed, you can get some decent sized tubing up through both the wings - just try and keep the bends to a minimum and keep them smooth.

I wouldn't be to worried about its position though.
