If it is the case the S2000 will be in the €2k+ bracket so I hope he's talking crap!
Well we'll find out today with the preliminary announcement later but i cant see it happening. Id say they'll just increase the rates across the board by a set amount along with an increase in petrol

Aye, I figure they might bump up the pre-2008 tax prices (ridiculous in itself) a little bit, but I had to buy my tax yesterday anyways so I'm covered up until next September anyways.

it won't be long before the tax gets put onto the petrol..... as soon as they decided i 2008 to tax on emissions, they practically killed there chances of serious revenue in the years to come......

If the revenue was being used to improve the road network then that would make sense - drive more, pay more! It would suit me for the S2000 (10k kms in 4 years!) but not so good for the vans - I run a small removal/delivery business!!

i'd be happy... having to tax 3 cars and only driving one is a nightmare.... i imagine it would be different for commercial use, how it should be....

sure the 2 honda's i have accumulate <1500 in car tax alone

Well they'd obviously have to sort it with hauliers/drivers/taxi's in mind as well. A 50% customs return every quarter would suffice. I cant see this come in for awhile though which is annoying. I think we should all contribute to making it happen though, we should all go out and buy cheap 3.0l+ cars, drive them around for awhile without tax and if we get caught they can scrap them. Old crappy mercs, bm's, etc. Might get a 3.0 vtec Legend lol.
