look at the Japanese Best videos on google video..
they show more or less what is the max possible out of a tuned S2000 on more or less unlimited budgets.... and if it does "win" against other cars on the track.. it's the amazing cornering speed they find from it that keeps it ahead of the competition..not on pure power/torque.. and cornering speed needs to be extracted by the driver.
suggest you put your car on a dyno first and see what the gap is to 300bhp...you might be surprised at the gap..

Thanks for all the replies/advice, guys, I shall begin my research into costs more thoroughly now. I need it below 1100kg with good suspension and brakes... and I think I might be looking at a supercharger! I'll keep you posted.
